රාවණා, සීතා සහ මන්දෝදරී දේවිය ගැවසුණු බිම
මෙම ඉඩම පූජනීය කළුතර බෝධියට ඉතා ආසන්නව පිහිටා ඇත. පුරාණ ජනප්රවාදවලට අනුව, වර්තමාන බෝධිය පිහිටා ඇති ස්ථානය අතීතයේදී මහා රාවණා රජුගේ මාලිගාවක් පැවති ස්ථානයකි. එහි රාවණා රජුගේ අනෙකුත් රහස් ස්ථාන කරා දිවෙන රහසිගත උමං මාර්ගයක් ද ඇති බව පැවසේ.
ජනප්රවාදයට අනුව සීතා දේවිය සඟවා තබා ඇත්තේ වර්තමාන කළුතර බෝධිය පිහිටි ස්ථානයේ තිබූ මාලිගය තුළය. සීතා දේවියට වන්දනාමාන කිරීම සඳහා ඉදිකළ කෝවිලක නටබුන් අදටත් කළුතර අධිකරණ සංකීර්ණ භූමිය තුළ පුරාවිද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ආරක්ෂාව යටතේ පවතී. රාවණා රජුගේ අගමෙහෙසිය වූ මන්දෝදරී දේවිය, සීතා දේවිය සමඟ අවට උද්යානවල සහ මෙම කෝවිල වෙත ගිය බව කියැවේ. මාලිගය අවට තිබූ ඉඩම් අතුරින් රාවණා යුගයේ සිට අද දක්වා කිසිදු ජනාවාසයක් නොවූ එකම ඉඩම මෙය වීම විශේෂත්වයකි.
මෙම ඉඩම වසර 200කට අධික කාලයක් පුරා ජනාවාසයකින් තොරව පැවති බැවින් මිනිස් ක්රියාකාරකම් නිසා සිදුවන කිසිදු දූෂණයකින් තොරය. අතීතයේදී මෙය ඉහළ ප්රදේශවල පතල්වලින් ගෙන එන මිනිරන් ගොඩබෑමේ මධ්යස්ථානයක් ලෙස පමණක් භාවිතා කර ඇත. මේ නිසා මෙහි ඉදිකිරීම් සිදුකරන ඕනෑම අයෙකුට ඉතා පිරිසිදු, "නොඉඳුල්" (Virgin property) ඉඩමක් හිමිවනු ඇත. බ්රිතාන්ය, පෘතුගීසි සහ ලන්දේසි ගවේෂකයන්ගේ පැරණි සිතුවම්වල පවා මෙම ඉඩම ජනාවාස නොවූ සුන්දර උද්යානයක් ලෙස දක්වා ඇත.

Where Seetha, Mandodari and Ravana Roamed.
First of all, it has historical value, being that it is situated very near Bodiya, which is a Buddhist shrine. And according to ancient folklore, the site where Bodiya is the palace of King Ravana existed, which holds a secret tunnel entrance leading to other secret adobes of the revered King Ravana. The story goes to say that Seetha was hidden at the Palace existed at present day Kalutara Bodiya. And remains of a Kovil was built for Seetha to worship still exists inside the Kalutara Courts premises protected by the Archeological Department of Sri Lanka. Legends speak of Ravana’s Queen – Mandodari accompanied Seetha in the surrounding gardens and to Kovil.
