Setup: Place a bench under the pull-up bar. Sit or stand on it, grasping the bar with an underhand grip (palms facing you) slightly wider than shoulder-width.
Execution: Pull your chest up toward the bar, leading with your chest and squeezing your shoulder blades together.
Descent: Slowly lower your body, using your legs on the bench to manage the load as needed, until arms are fully extended.
Pro Tip: Use the bench for a full, safe stretch at the bottom, or to help you jump to the top for "eccentric" (negatives) repetitions.
