"Fine Wind, Clear Morning" or "RED FUJI"
This painting, considered Hokusai's masterpiece, is world-famous. It is counted among the three greatest masterpieces in "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji," alongside "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" and "Rainstorm Below the Summit." The "Red Fuji" depicted is a phenomenon seen in the early morning, and the painting perfectly captures the magnificent view of Mount Fuji, with its vast, clear blue sky, cirrus clouds drifting across the mountainside, and its reddish slopes, deeply moving the viewer. Hokusai's skill in expressing this with only three colors reveals his great mental strength.
