The Alesis Vortex Wireless 2 is a 37-key MIDI keytar controller designed for live performance freedom. It uses a 2.4 GHz USB receiver to connect wirelessly to computers or sound modules, allowing musicians to perform without being tethered by cables.
Performance Controls
The keytar is designed for high-expressivity during live shows, featuring a variety of assignable controls:
Keyboard: 37 velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch for expressive melodic playing.
Drum Pads: Eight RGB backlit, velocity-sensitive trigger pads used for beat production or triggering clips.
Faders: Eight backlit faders that can be mapped to volume or other virtual instrument parameters.
Neck Controls: Includes a MIDI-assignable touch strip, a thumb-controlled volume slider, and a reversible pitch-bend wheel.
Tilt Sensor: An embedded accelerometer allows users to control parameters by tilting the instrument, with a dedicated on/off button for quick toggling.

The Vortex Wireless 2 offers multiple ways to integrate with a music setup:
Wireless: Uses a single USB dongle (included) to establish a low-latency connection with a Mac or PC.
Wired: Features standard USB-MIDI and traditional 5-pin MIDI Out jacks for connecting directly to hardware synthesizers or sound modules.
Power Sources: Can be powered via 4 AA batteries for complete mobility or through a USB cable when connected to a computer.
