About Alma Hostel:
Alma Hostel is a fun and friendly tourist hostel in Colombo. We pride ourselves on keeping our space clean, comfortable, and welcoming for travelers from around the world. We are looking for reliable Housekeeping Staff to join our team and maintain the high standards of cleanliness our guests expect.
🌟 Key Responsibilities:
Daily Cleaning of All Hostel Areas:
Clean and maintain dorm rooms, private rooms, bathrooms, toilets, common areas, kitchen space, and public zones.
Ensure all beds are made neatly and rooms are set up properly for guests.
Deep Cleaning & Routine Tasks:
Perform deep cleaning tasks on scheduled days.
Maintain hygiene standards throughout the hostel.
Trash Management:
Collect and dispose of garbage regularly and ensure all bins are cleaned and replaced with fresh liners.
Laundry Duties:
Organise bed linens, towels, guests laundry, and staff uniforms.
Restocking Supplies:
Refill toilet paper, hand soap, cleaning liquids, and other hostel amenities as needed.
Twice-daily Cleanliness Checks:
Work with the Hostel Manager to ensure all areas are checked and cleaned at the start of the day and again by 5PM.
Report Maintenance Issues:
Immediately inform the Manager of any damages, repairs, or safety concerns.
✅ What We’re Looking For:
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently, follow checklists, and maintain high standards.
- Good attitude, reliability, and willingness to work in a team.
- Friendly, respectful, and able to interact politely with international guests.
Physically fit and able to manage cleaning tasks throughout the day.
Able to ride a scooter.
📅 Working Schedule:
6 days a week
Full-time hours
