Finance Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the financial and management accounting, reporting, and compliance for the group's active “Small Business” entities in Sri Lanka, UAE and Australia. This role requires a strong technical accountant with experience in, or a proven ability to manage, multi-currency transactions, inter-company balances, and consolidated group reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Group Accounting & Reporting
• Consolidation: Prepare and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for the entire group (5 active companies plus dormant entities) in line with SLFRSs/IFRS.
• Multi-Currency Management: Oversee all transactions involving LKR, AUD, and AED, ensuring accurate foreign currency translation and treatment of exchange differences.
• Inter-Company Reconciliation: Manage and reconcile all inter-company transactions, loans, and service charges, ensuring compliance with Transfer Pricing guidelines (basic understanding required).
• Management Reporting: Produce timely and insightful monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports for the Group Board.
• Prepare and present accurate monthly financial statements.
• Analyze production and financial data for strategic decision-making.
• Financial Planning,budgeting,forecasting and reporting (Annually and monthy)
• Manage day to day financial operations and Bank relates handling.
• Compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strong internal accounting standards and work with external auditors.
• Analyzing and presenting the reports of Financial Key performances monthly/Annually
2. Financial Planning & Cash Flow
• Cash Flow Management: Develop and maintain detailed weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts for the group to optimize fund allocation across the three geographies.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and continuous re-forecasting for all entities.
• Financial Strategy: Act as a key liaison to management, providing financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and expansion plans for the dormant companies.
3. Compliance & Tax Coordination
• Sri Lanka: Manage the full financial function, including finalization of accounts, statutory audits, and corporate tax/VAT filings for the two SL-based companies.
• Australia: Coordinate closely with local, outsourced tax agents/advisors in Melbourne and Dubai to ensure timely submission of:
o Australian BAS/GST and Corporate Tax returns.
o UAE VAT and newly introduced Corporate Tax compliance.
o Note: While the role coordinates, the final tax filing expertise resides with the local agents.
• Statutory Compliance: Ensure all entities adhere to local corporate governance and statutory filing deadlines.
4. Systems & Process Improvement
• Oversee the implementation and efficient use of the chosen cloud-based multi-currency accounting software (Xero/QuickBooks Online experience preferred).
• Review and improve current accounting processes for efficiency and robust internal controls across the group.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Professional Qualification: Fully or Part-Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Group, Head Office, or Commercial role handling multi-entity or international accounts.
• Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas) and mandatory experience with cloud-based, multi-currency accounting software.
• Competencies: Exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
