NORVI Controllers · Midigama, Weligama, Sri Lanka · Full-Time, Permanent
About NORVI Controllers
NORVI Controllers is a Sri Lankan electronics design and manufacturing company that exports industrial IoT hardware to Europe and North America. Our products — including programmable controllers and industrial communication devices — are CE/EMC/RED certified and used in real automation projects worldwide. We design and manufacture from our facility in Midigama, Weligama, and have been shipping internationally since 2014.
Every device that leaves our facility is tested and verified before it reaches our customers. This role is central to that commitment.
The Role
We are recruiting two Electronics Technicians to join our Quality Control team, reporting to our QC Engineer. You will be responsible for testing and verifying finished NORVI devices against established test procedures, identifying faults, and ensuring every unit meets our quality standards before dispatch.
We are open to candidates at two levels — if you have stronger hands-on experience, you will be considered for the Electronics Technician position. If you are earlier in your career but have solid practical foundations, you will be considered for the Electronics Technician Trainee position. Both roles are permanent and full-time.
What You Will Do
• Carry out functional testing of assembled NORVI electronic devices following established test procedures and checklists
• Use test equipment — multimeters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, and PC-based test tools — to verify device performance
• Identify and document faults clearly, including symptoms, test conditions, and observations
• Perform PCB-level fault finding to isolate component or assembly defects — for candidates with this experience, it is a strong advantage
• Carry out or support basic rework and soldering where required
• Record test results accurately in quality control logs and production records
• Escalate recurring or complex faults to the QC Engineer with clear documentation
• Maintain a clean, organised test bench and handle electronic assemblies with care
• Support continuous improvement of test procedures by flagging issues or inefficiencies observed on the bench
What We Are Looking For
For the Electronics Technician position:
• NVQ Level 5, City & Guilds, NAITA certificate, or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in electronics testing, repair, or assembly — in a manufacturing, service, or repair environment
• Confident use of standard test equipment — multimeter, oscilloscope, bench power supply
• PCB-level fault finding experience is a strong advantage
• Good soldering skills
• Ability to read and follow circuit diagrams and test documentation
For the Electronics Technician Trainee position:
• NVQ Level 4 or above, City & Guilds, NAITA certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
• Hands-on project or internship experience with electronic circuits — college projects, personal builds, or prior internship work all count
• Basic familiarity with test equipment and electronic components
• Eagerness to learn in a structured manufacturing environment
• Good attention to detail and care in handling electronic assemblies
For both positions:
• Accuracy and attention to detail — you are the last check before a device reaches an international customer
• Ability to follow written procedures carefully and document results clearly
• A team-oriented approach — you will work closely with the QC Engineer and production team
What We Offer
• Electronics Technician: LKR 55,000–75,000/month based on experience
• Electronics Technician Trainee: LKR 35,000–50,000/month
• Permanent position with EPF/ETF for both roles
• Structured on-the-job training under an experienced QC Engineer
• Hands-on experience with internationally certified industrial electronics — CE, EMC, RED
• Clear progression path from Trainee to Technician to Senior Technician as skills develop
• A stable, facility-based role in Midigama, Weligama
Location
Our facility is in Midigama, Weligama, Southern Province. This is a full-time, on-site role. Candidates based in the Galle–Matara corridor are preferred. Candidates from other areas willing to relocate are welcome to apply.
