A leading Sri Lankan export-oriented organization with a strong international footprint is seeking an experienced International Commodity Trader to strengthen its global trading operations.
This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional with existing international buyer relationships and hands-on experience in spices and natural ingredients trading.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive international sales and trading activities across spices and natural ingredients
• Develop and manage long-term relationships with overseas buyers and distributors
• Identify new markets through market research, buyer engagement, and trend analysis
• Represent the organization at international trade fairs, buyer meetings, and business forums
• Support sourcing operations through coordination with supplier and farmer networks
• Strengthen the company’s digital and electronic sales presence
• Contribute to pricing strategies, trading decisions, and revenue growth initiatives
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Minimum 3 years of experience in international trading or business development (Spices, Essential Oils, Natural Ingredients, or Agricultural Commodities required)
• Established relationships with international buyers in the relevant sector (mandatory)
• Strong understanding of global commodity markets and export operations
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Highly self-motivated, confident, and results-oriented
• Strong business writing and reporting capability
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, or a related field
