Job Responsibilities
* Handle invoicing, collections, and payment processing.
* Ensure timely payment to vendors and manage outstanding dues.
* Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions in compliance with company policies.
* Reconcile bank statements and other accounts on a regular basis.
* Manage billing cycles, including issuing invoices and verifying freight and customs charges.
* Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and filed according to company and regulatory standards.
* Prepare reports on profit and loss by analyzing revenue and expenses for different accounts and shipments.
* Liaise with clients and suppliers for financial queries and issues.
Requirements
* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) are a plus.
* Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounts role, preferably within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
* Familiarity with freight forwarding billing practices, customs charges, and other related financial aspects is an advantage.
* Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP systems).
* Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in Sinhala & English.
* Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance standards in the logistics/freight forwarding industry is a plus.
