Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and proactive Street Dog Care Program Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our street dog welfare initiative. The selected individual will manage the overall care of the dogs in the sanctuary, coordinate activities with local and foreign volunteers, and ensure the smooth execution and continuous improvement of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the entire Street Dog Care Program, ensuring effective implementation and development.
• Coordinate daily operations of the dog care sanctuary, ensuring all animals receive proper attention, food, and medical care.
• Collaborate closely with foreign volunteers, providing guidance, schedules, and support throughout their stay.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including animal health logs, volunteer attendance, and program reports.
• Ensure the overall welfare, safety, and wellbeing of all dogs under the sanctuary’s care.
• Develop and implement initiatives to improve the efficiency and impact of the dog care program.
• Promote teamwork and maintain effective communication among staff and volunteers.
• Represent the organization professionally when interacting with donors, partners, and visitors.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Welfare, Biology, or a related field.
• Prior experience working with animals or in an animal welfare organization is highly preferred.
• Strong coordination and leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team, including foreign volunteers.
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to animal welfare.
• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Sinhala or Tamil is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
Additional Requirements:
• Preference will be given to candidates with veterinary backgrounds or animal welfare experience.
