VACANCY – OFFICE ASSISTANT (PURCHASING)
Abeysinghe Super Center (Pvt) Ltd, a rapidly expanding supermarket chain located in Matara, is pleased to invite suitable candidates to apply for the position of Office Assistant.
🔹 Position: Office Assistant (Purchasing)
📍 Location: Matara
💰 Salary & Benefits:
* Rs. 60,000 – 70,000 (based on experience)
* Free meals provided by the company
🎓 Qualifications & Requirements:
* G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) qualified – School leavers are encouraged to apply
* Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, administration, or office-related duties will be an added advantage
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
* Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
* Candidates residing closer to Matara are preferred
* Female candidates only
🛒 Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in purchasing and procurement activities of the company
* Coordinate with suppliers regarding promotions, special offers, and product availability
* Prepare Purchase Orders (POs), process Goods Received Notes (GRNs) in the system, and maintain purchasing records
* Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to obtain the best value for the company
* Follow up on deliveries and stock requirements
* Support day-to-day office administrative functions
* Maintain accurate documentation and filing systems

* Good communication and negotiation skills
* Active, energetic, and self-motivated
* Strong bargaining and supplier negotiation skills
* Ability to build and maintain good relationships with suppliers
* Honest, responsible, and detail-oriented
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good time management and organizational skills
