Head Gardener -Kalpitiya

We are looking for an experienced Head Gardener capable of maintaining a large resort property in a dry coastal climate and effectively managing a landscaping team.

Key Responsibilities -

* Lead and supervise a team of gardeners (scheduling, training, quality control, safety compliance).

* Plan planting schemes and maintenance suited to coastal conditions (salt exposure, wind, sandy soils).

* Manage irrigation and fertigation systems, apply fertilizers, and monitor pH/EC levels.

* Maintain existing plantings (coconut palms, Scaevola, Wedelia, frangipani, tradescantia, bananas, lawn) and select new resilient species.

* Track water and fertilizer usage, oversee area budget, purchasing, and inventory.

* Coordinate with hotel management to prepare the grounds for events and maintain a “guest-friendly” landscape standard.

Requirements -

* 5+ years of experience in tropical or coastal landscaping; resort/hotel experience preferred.

* Knowledge of irrigation on sandy soils, fertigation, and remineralization of RO water.

* Strong team-management and KPI-setting skills.

* Languages: confident English.
