They are looking to hire a skilled Accountant to manage the financial operations of their Sri Lankan office, while providing daily support to their Australian-based corporate clients. Position Overview:
As an Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions, while helping to facilitate the growing influx of business from Australia and New Zealand. You will be expected to manage bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting with a high degree of accuracy. The role will be based in the Orion City office in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Work Hours:
• Monday to Friday: 07:00 AM – 03:30 PM
• Saturday: 07:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Key Responsibilities:
As an Accountant, your primary duties will include:
• Bookkeeping: Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including processing invoices and maintaining accurate ledgers.
• Bank Reconciliations: Ensure the accuracy of bank reconciliations and the timely posting of transactions.
• Sales & Purchase Ledger: Oversee and manage both purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring accurate entries.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Xero/MYOB Expertise: Use Xero or MYOB for accurate bookkeeping and reporting.
• Journal Entries: Process journal entries, ensuring correct allocation of debits and credits.
• Nominal Ledger Management: Work with nominal ledger codes, including treatment of balance sheet and P&L items.
• Data Entry: Accurately enter and update financial data into accounting software and systems.
• Support to Australian Office: Assist the Australian team with financial tasks and reporting.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with both the Sri Lankan and Australian teams to meet financial goals.
• Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist with ad-hoc financial tasks and special projects as directed by management.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive Accountant who meets the following criteria:
• Minimum 2 Years Bookkeeping Experience: You have at least 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Educational Background: A degree in Management, Business, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Experience with Australian Businesses: Previous experience working with Australian businesses is highly preferred.
• Accounting Knowledge: In-depth understanding of debits and credits, and proficiency in preparing journals, bank reconciliations, and managing ledgers.
• Xero/MYOB Knowledge: Experience with bookkeeping software such as Xero or MYOB is a must.
• Strong Communication Skills: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Time Management: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and accuracy in all financial tasks.
Desirable Skills:
• Australian Accounting Experience: Familiarity with Australian tax laws and accounting practices is an advantage.
• Payroll Experience: Experience with payroll processing and accounting would be beneficial.
