Wildlife Naturalist - Safari Guide

We're seeking passionate wildlife naturalists to join our safari guide team. You'll accompany guests on safari tours, sharing your knowledge of Sri Lanka's incredible biodiversity while creating memorable and educational wildlife experiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Guide safari tours in assigned national parks (Yala, Udawalawe, Bundala, Lunugamwehera)

- Identify and explain wildlife, birds, flora, and ecosystems to international guests

- Engage guests with informative commentary about animal behavior and conservation

- Answer questions and provide educational insights throughout the safari

- Ensure guest safety and adherence to park regulations

- Coordinate with drivers to optimize wildlife viewing opportunities

- Maintain professional conduct and represent Diamond Tours' standards

Required Qualifications

- Fluent English (essential for guiding international guests)

- Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan wildlife, particularly mammals, birds, and reptiles

- Passion for nature, conservation, and environmental education

- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities

- Ability to engage diverse audiences with enthusiasm

- Professional appearance and demeanor

- Physical fitness for outdoor work in varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

- Formal qualifications in zoology, botany, environmental science, or related fields

- Previous experience as a safari guide or naturalist

- Knowledge of multiple national parks and their unique ecosystems

- Additional language skills (German, French, Spanish, etc.)

- Photography knowledge to assist guests

- First aid certification
