• Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of raw materials (fabrics, buttons, zippers, threads) and finished garments using stock registers or ERP systems.
• Goods Receiving & Inspection:
Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, check quality, color, fabric type, and quantities before accepting into store.
• Stock Issuing:
Issue materials to production departments based on approved requisitions, ensuring correct quantity and minimizing wastage.
• Stock Control & Monitoring:
Monitor stock levels, identify fast-moving and slow-moving items, and alert management for reordering or clearance.
• Storage & Organization:
Ensure proper labeling, categorization, and storage of materials to prevent damage, contamination, or mix-ups (especially color/shade variations).
• Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain GRNs (Goods Received Notes), BIN cards, stock ledgers, and prepare periodic inventory reports.
• Stock Audits:
Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with system records to avoid discrepancies.
• Quality & Compliance:
Ensure materials are stored under suitable conditions (humidity, cleanliness) to maintain garment quality standards.
• Coordination:
Work closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Loss Prevention:
Implement controls to prevent theft, damage, or misplacement of stock.
