*REMEDIUM Antiseptic Spray by Vetpharma*
*1. What’s in it / What it does*
REMEDIUM is a *veterinary antiseptic wound spray* made for dogs, cats, cattle, etc.
*Main ingredients*: Usually contains Gentian Violet + antiseptic + alcohol base.
That’s why it’s blue/purple and dries fast.
*What it’s for:*
- Minor cuts, scrapes, surgical wounds
- Prevents infection + repels flies/maggots
- Forms a protective colored film over the wound
- Antifungal + antibacterial + antiseptic
*Drying time*: Yes, it dries *very quickly* — usually 30 seconds to 2 minutes because of the alcohol base.
*Why be careful with REMEDIUM:*
1. *Alcohol stings* - It can be painful on a fresh surgical cut
2. *Dye* - The blue color can hide signs of infection like redness or discharge
3. *Licking risk* - Cats will lick. Gentian Violet isn’t meant to be ingested. You MUST use a cone
. If your vet says OK to use it, do it like this:*
1. Clean hands first
2. Hold spray 15cm / 6 inches away from the wound
3. 1-2 light sprays only on the _skin around_ the incision, not directly soaking the stitches
4. Let it air dry 5-10 min. Keep her from licking with a cone
5. Use 1x per day max. Don’t overdo it
