Job Summary
The International Trade & Logistics Executive is responsible for managing import and export operations, coordinating shipments, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and optimizing logistics processes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities
-International Trade Management
-Handle end-to-end import and export documentation and processes
Coordinate with overseas suppliers, buyers, and agents
-Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and documentation requirements
-Prepare and verify shipping documents (Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, etc.)
-Monitor international trade policies, duties, and tariffs
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
-Plan and coordinate shipments (air, sea, and land freight)
-Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearing agents
-Track shipments and ensure on-time delivery
-Manage warehousing, inventory movement, and distribution
-Optimize logistics costs and improve operational efficiency
Customs & Compliance
-Ensure proper customs clearance procedures
-Work with clearing agents to avoid delays or penalties
-Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance
-Stay updated on import/export regulations in Sri Lanka and international markets
Financial & Documentation Control
-Coordinate with finance team for payments, LC (Letter of Credit), and bank documentation
-Verify freight invoices, duties, and other logistics costs
-Maintain accurate records of all transactions and shipments
Communication & Coordination
-Maintain strong communication with internal departments (sales, finance, warehouse)
-Build and maintain relationships with international clients and suppliers
-Resolve shipment issues, delays, or discrepancies efficiently
