The Role
1. Install, service, and repair diesel/petrol generators of varying capacities at customer sites and the workshop.
2. Carry out routine preventive maintenance checks (oil, filters, batteries, cooling systems, wiring) to minimize breakdowns.
3. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in generator sets and carry out timely repairs to restore functionality.
4. Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and parts usage reports for each generator serviced.
5. Respond promptly to customer breakdown calls and provide after-sales support in line with company service standards.
The Person
1. NVQ Level 4/5, National Certificate, or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Auto Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
2. Minimum 2–3 years' hands-on experience servicing and repairing generators or similar diesel powered equipment.
3. Sound working knowledge of generator control panels, AVRs, engines, and electrical systems.
4. Willingness to travel to customer sites island-wide and work flexible hours, including emergency call-outs.
5. Valid driving license, strong problem-solving skills, and good communication for customer interactions.
