At the Ceylon Academy of Gemmological Science (CAGS) The selected Candidate will play a key role in teaching, training, and guiding students in the fields of gemstone identification, gem trading, and practical Gemmological applications.
This position is ideal for both experienced professionals and freshly qualified Gemmologists or Geologist, offering an opportunity to develop a career in education while gaining exposure to Sri Lanka’s gemstone industry.

The Ceylon Academy of Gemmological Science (CAGS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Gemmologist - Gem Lab Assistants to join our academic and training team.
We welcome fresh graduates and newly qualified Gemmologists, as well as experienced professionals, who are interested in teaching, training, and supporting students in the fields of gemstones and gem trading.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in teaching and practical training related to gemstones and gem trading
• Support laboratory sessions, gemstone identification, and handling
• Making presentations and delivering them
• Guide and mentor students during practical and classroom activities
• Assist in academic content delivery, demonstrations, and assessments
• Maintain professionalism and academic discipline within the institute
Requirements
• Qualification in Gemmology (local or international certification)
• Strong interest in education, training, and the gemstone industry
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to learn and grow within an academic environment
• Fresh Gemmologists without experience are encouraged to apply
