CFO/head of Finance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals

Advise the CEO and leadership team on financial planning and business decisions

Lead long-term financial forecasting and budgeting

2. Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee preparation of financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

Monitor cash flow, profitability, and financial performance

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

Lead annual budgeting process

Develop financial models and forecasts

Track and analyze variances, providing actionable insights

4. Risk Management & Compliance

Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies

Ensure compliance with tax laws, audits, and regulatory requirements

Manage internal controls and governance frameworks

5. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

Optimize cash flow, working capital, and liquidity

Manage banking relationships and funding strategies

Oversee investments and capital structure

6. Team Leadership

Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team

Build a high-performance finance function

Coordinate with other departments for financial alignment

7. Stakeholder Management

Communicate financial performance to board members and investors

Support fundraising, investor relations, and M&A activities (if applicable)

Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions

Qualifications & Requirements Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Master’s degree (MBA or MSc in Finance) – preferred

Professional Certifications (Highly Preferred)

Chartered Accountant (CA)

ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)

CPA (Certified Public Accountant)

CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) – advantage for investment-focused roles
