BOUTIQUE RESORT MANAGER – HANDS-ON POSITION

Oleander Resort – Talawa, near Anuradhapura

Salary: LKR 75,000 – 95,000/month + service fee + private accommodation + meals

Oleander Resort is a small, exclusive boutique resort set in the peaceful countryside of Talawa, near Anuradhapura.

Our intimate property consists of just two luxurious private cabanas, accommodating a maximum of only 8 guests in total. We are looking for a motivated, experienced and hands-on Boutique Resort Manager who can take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the resort and provide our guests with a truly personal and high-quality experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a small luxury property rather than a large hotel environment, where you can make a visible difference to every guest's stay.

The position

We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional who is fluent in English, has worked in a high-standard hotel or resort, and is comfortable taking responsibility for the complete operation of a small boutique property.

This is a hands-on position. We are not looking for someone who only supervises from an office.

The successful candidate will work closely with the housekeeping team, help maintain the property to a very high standard, interact personally with guests and ensure that everything is ready and functioning perfectly.

Experience in a 5-star hotel or luxury resort, particularly in the Maldives, Middle East or another international luxury destination, would be highly advantageous.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the daily operation of Oleander Resort and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Welcome guests and provide warm, professional and personalized service.

Handle reservations, guest enquiries, requests and feedback.

Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation and hospitality.

Actively participate in housekeeping and room preparation when required.

Supervise housekeeping and ensure the cabanas are prepared to luxury-hotel standards.

Oversee food and beverage service and ensure guests receive excellent meals and service.

Assist with breakfast and other food preparation when required.

Cooking skills would be an advantage.

Monitor the swimming pool, garden, grounds and general appearance of the resort.

Coordinate routine maintenance and promptly identify and resolve operational problems.

Monitor supplies, purchasing, stock and inventories.

Maintain accurate financial and operational records and assist with budgeting and cost control.

Coordinate with external suppliers and maintenance personnel.

Ensure that the property is always clean, safe, well-maintained and ready for guests.

Continuously look for ways to improve the guest experience and the quality of the resort.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

Sri Lankan and fluent in English

Experienced in hospitality, preferably with 3–5+ years of experience

Experienced in a 4- or 5-star hotel, luxury resort, boutique hotel or villa

Ideally experienced in the Maldives, Middle East or another international luxury-hospitality environment

Naturally friendly, professional and service-oriented

Comfortable communicating with international guests

Highly attentive to cleanliness, presentation and detail

Practical and able to solve problems independently

Team-player, willing to work hands-on alongside the housekeeping team

Flexible and willing to help wherever necessary in a small operation

Reliable, honest and able to take responsibility

Comfortable with basic administration, purchasing, stock control and financial records

Able to cook or assist confidently in the kitchen is an advantage

Able to work independently and take ownership of the resort's daily operation

What we offer

LKR 75,000 – 95,000/month, depending on experience, plus service fees
