Key responsibilities
• Managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) by raising, sending, and paying invoices, as well as checking supplier statements.
• Recording daily financial transactions, journal entries, and updating sales and purchase ledgers in accounting software like QuickBooks.
• Performing bank reconciliations to ensure that internal bank records match statement balances, and reconciling credit card statements.
• Following up with clients to chase late payments and outstanding balances.
• Managing and recording petty cash transactions and expenses.
• Handling filing, scanning documentation, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and supporting the team with general office duties.
• Supporting the preparation of monthly accounts, expense reports, and VAT returns.
Key Skills Required
• Attention to Detail: Pinpoint accuracy is required to reduce manual errors.
• Software Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets) and accounting software.
• Communication: Interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
• Organization: Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks, especially during busy month-end periods.
