ABOUT PAPITA’S
Papita’s is a small, fast-growing comfort food kitchen newly opened in Ahangama. We are looking for a Junior Cook to support breakfast service, daily kitchen prep, and occasional evenings as we open and grow.
This role is ideal for someone with basic kitchen experience who wants steady work, clear structure, and the opportunity to grow with a small team.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Junior Cook supports daily breakfast service and kitchen preparation in a small, fast-paced comfort food kitchen. This role focuses on food prep, basic cooking, and assembling menu items consistently while maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards. Training is provided, and the role offers an opportunity to grow with the business as operations expand.
This position is ideal for someone reliable, hands-on, and interested in developing practical kitchen skills in a supportive but professional environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with preparation of breakfast items
Help prepare small batch menu items and sauces (training provided)
Assemble menu items consistently
Support griddle cooking during service
Maintain clean, hygienic, and organized work areas
Follow food safety and hygiene standards
Work closely with the shift lead and owner in a small team environment
Assist with light closing or prep tasks when needed
General Expectations
Support wherever needed to keep service flowing smoothly
Maintain a professional, clean personal appearance while on shift
Occasionally assist with small errands or quick supply pickups
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Some experience in food service, kitchen prep, or fast-paced hospitality
Reliable, punctual, and able to handle morning, weekend, or night shifts
Comfortable working in a small team and taking direction
Ability to stay calm and steady during busy periods
Good communication skills and willingness to learn
Commitment to maintaining hygiene and cleanliness
Spoken English
Preferred:
Prior food handling or cooking experience
Experience assembling or serving food items
Familiarity with basic kitchen equipment
WORK SCHEDULE
Split shift: Mornings and some evenings
