Yamaha synthetic slide grease is a high-stability lubricant designed primarily for the tuning slides of brass instruments. Unlike trombone hand slide lubricants, these greases are formulated to be thicker to provide an airtight seal and prevent slides from sticking or slipping out of place.

Yamaha offers several synthetic formulations to suit different slide tolerances and application preferences:
Slide Grease (Soft/Fine) - 10g Tub: A thicker formula ideal for main tuning slides. It is highly stable across different temperatures and includes a corrosion inhibitor to protect the instrument's metal.
Slide Grease Gel - 12g Squeeze Tube: A thinner gel formulation that spreads more easily than the tub version. It features a curved silicone applicator for mess-free, marker-style application.
Slide Grease Stick - 5g: A convenient twist-stick (lipstick-style) applicator designed for quick use without getting grease on your fingers.
Synthetic Tuning Slide Oil: A separate, much thinner liquid proprietary blend intended for fast-moving tuning slides, such as the 1st and 3rd slides on a trumpet.

Proper Application
Clean: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to remove old grease and dirt from the inner slide tube.
Apply: Put a small amount of grease onto the inner slide section.
Distribute: Reassemble the slide and move it back and forth several times to spread the lubricant evenly across the surface.
Important Note for Trombonists: Do not use these greases on a trombone's main hand slide. Tuning slide grease is too thick for hand slides and will cause them to feel sluggish. For the hand slide, use Yamaha Trombone Slide Lubricant (often called Yamaha Snot by players)
