Yamaha Brass Soap (model YAC 1062P) is a neutral detergent specially formulated to clean the interior and exterior of brass instruments. Unlike standard dish soap, which some players fear may be abrasive, this soap is designed to safely break up organic buildup, dirt, and tarnish without damaging the instrument's finish.

How to Use
For the best results during a deep clean or monthly maintenance, follow these steps provided by Yamaha's maintenance guide:
Dilute: Mix 1 part brass soap with 10 to 15 parts warm water (–).
Apply: Dip a flexible cleaning brush (snake) or mouthpiece brush into the solution.
Scrub: Use the brush to scrub the interior of the instrument's tubing or the throat of the mouthpiece.
Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the instrument with clean water to remove all soap residue.
Dry: Remove moisture with gauze or a swab before reapplying fresh valve oil or slide grease.
Maintenance Frequency
Regular Players: Every 1–3 months to prevent organic buildup.
Occasional Players: Every 3–6 months to maintain hygiene and performance.
