✅ About the Role
We are offering an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals to join our UK Payroll delivery team as a Trainee/Intern. This role is ideal for someone pursuing further studies who is eager to build a career in UK payroll. You will receive structured, hands-on training covering the full UK payroll lifecycle, working closely with experienced payroll professionals from day one.
Key Responsibilities
♦️Participate fully in a structured UK payroll training programme covering PAYE, tax codes, National Insurance, pensions and statutory deductions.
♦️Assist with day-to-day payroll data entry, checks and administrative support under supervision.
♦️Support experienced team members with mock payroll cycles and practical simulation exercises.
♦️Learn and apply HMRC reporting requirements, including RTI (FPS/EPS) submissions.
♦️Take part in scenario-based problem solving and competency assessments.
♦️Maintain accurate records and follow confidentiality and data protection procedures.
♦️Progressively take on greater responsibility as competency and confidence develop.
✅ Requirements
♦️Qualifications & Background
♦️Currently pursuing higher studies (degree, professional qualification, or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
♦️No prior UK payroll experience required — full training will be provided.
✅ Skills & Attributes
♦️Ambitious and meticulous, with a genuine interest in learning and growing a long-term career with the firm.
♦️Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
♦️Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
♦️Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
♦️Experience with cloud-based payroll or accounting software is preferred.
♦️A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to learn from feedback.
♦️Ability to work well within a team environment.
♦️A ROUTE TO A PERMANENT ROLE
♦️Following a four-month evaluation period, interns who demonstrate strong performance, commitment and growth will be considered for a permanent position within the team.
