💠 Reports To: Operations Manager / Sort Center Manager

💠 Job Purpose

Oversee daily sorting operations to ensure productivity, accuracy, safety, and timely shipment processing. Supervise package sorting, loading/unloading, handovers, exception handling, and reverse logistics while coordinating with linehaul teams and 3PL partners. Primarily assigned to the night shift, requiring flexibility to support days, weekends, holidays, and peak periods.

✅ Sort Operations & Productivity

【~】✪ 🔹Supervise daily sorting to achieve productivity, throughput, quality, and efficiency targets.

【~】✪ 🔹Ensure inbound/outbound packages are processed accurately within timelines and according to SOPs.

【~】✪ 🔹Identify mis-sorts and take immediate corrective action to minimize operational delays.

【~】✪ 🔹Monitor manpower allocation and workflow to maintain smooth operations during peak periods.

✅ Handover & Linehaul Coordination

【~】✪ 🔹Manage handovers to linehaul teams and 3PL partners.

【~】✪ 🔹Prepare and verify packages, documentation, manifests, and shipment details before dispatch.

【~】✪ 🔹Reconcile handover acknowledgments, investigate discrepancies, and resolve shipment issues.

✅ Exceptions & Reverse Logistics

【~】✪ 🔹Monitor compliance with manual package handling and operational standards.

【~】✪ 🔹Segregate, record, escalate, and process damaged, erroneous, or exception packages.

【~】✪ 🔹Minimize package loss, damage, and mis-sorts through effective supervision.

【~】✪ 🔹Manage reverse logistics; ensure returns are accurately received, sorted, recorded, and processed.

✅ Loading & Unloading

【~】✪ 🔹Supervise safe and efficient loading and unloading activities.

【~】✪ 🔹Ensure vehicles are loaded according to route, priority, and applicable procedures.

【~】✪ 🔹Monitor loading accuracy; ensure all shipments are accounted for before vehicle departure.

✅ Safety, Compliance & 5S

【~】✪ 🔹Maintain the sorting area to required safety, cleanliness, and organizational standards.

【~】✪ 🔹Ensure team members follow SOPs, safety requirements, and manual handling guidelines.

【~】✪ 🔹Identify unsafe practices or risks and take immediate corrective action.

✅ Reporting & Team Coordination

【~】✪ 🔹Prepare and maintain daily operational records, handover documents, and reconciliation reports.

【~】✪ 🔹Monitor and report productivity, discrepancies, and exceptions to the Operations Manager.

【~】✪ 🔹Coordinate with internal teams, linehaul, and 3PL partners.

【~】✪ 🔹Provide guidance to team members, identify process gaps, and support continuous improvement.

【~】✪ 🔹Promote teamwork, discipline, accountability, and a customer-focused approach.

✅ Key Skills & Competencies

【~】✪ 🔹Understanding of warehouse, logistics, courier, or sort-center operations.

【~】✪ 🔹Previous supervisory or team-lead experience in logistics/warehousing is preferred.

【~】✪ 🔹Strong attention to detail to identify package and process discrepancies.

【~】✪ 🔹Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.

【~】✪ 🔹Ability to prioritize tasks, handle issues, and make quick decisions in a target-driven environment.

【~】✪ 🔹Strong communication, coordination, and team-management skills.

【~】✪ 🔹Basic computer literacy, data-entry skills, and ability to prepare operational reports.

【~】✪ 🔹Good understanding of workplace safety and manual handling practices.

✅ Shift & Working Requirements

【~】✪ 🔹Primary responsibility: Night Shift.

【~】✪ 🔹Must be willing to provide day-shift coverage based on operational needs.

【~】✪ 🔹Willingness to work flexible shifts, extended hours, weekends, holidays, and peak schedules.

【~】✪ 🔹Ability to remain alert and effective while supervising high-volume night operations.
