ABOUT PAPITA’S
Papita’s is a new restaurant that serves elevated comfort food in a warm, rustic, cantina-style setting. We focus on honest flavors, real ingredients, and a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels like family.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a dependable, experienced Senior Shift Leader to support daily operations at Papita’s. As a small, tight-knit team, we need someone who works well alongside others, stays organized, and keeps a steady pace during busy moments. This is a hands-on role involving food service, coordination, and guiding part-time staff when needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Support
Assist with daily opening and closing procedures
Maintain smooth workflow during peak periods
Keep all workstations clean, stocked, and organized
Food Prep & Service
Prepare and assemble a variety of hot and cold food items according to Papita’s standards
Operate the griddle and basic kitchen equipment confidently
Support transitions between morning, afternoon, and evening service
Leadership & Training
Work closely with a small team and support part-time staff during their shifts
Help train new hires on Papita’s systems, methods, and expectations
Maintain a calm, consistent presence during high-traffic periods
Guest Experience
Handle payments and the cash register accurately
Provide friendly, welcoming service
Assist with customer questions or concerns professionally
Quality & Safety
Follow Papita’s food safety practices at all times
Ensure consistency, freshness, and correct handling of all items
Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the shop
General Tasks
Pitch in with basic cleaning and restocking
Run occasional small errands or supply pickups as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Prior food service experience (restaurant, café, fast casual, or counter service roles)
Ability to work efficiently during rush hours
Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
Confidence using basic kitchen equipment (training on Papita’s methods provided)
Good communication and teamwork skills
Spoken English
Preferred:
Food prep or food handling experience
Experience training or leading small teams
Customer service experience (waitstaff or counter service)
