CAGS – Ceylon Gemological Science Institute, a premier institute in Sri Lanka dedicated to the study of gemstones and gemology, is seeking passionate and responsible Lab Assistants to support our growing academic and laboratory operations.
Position: Lab Assistant
Location: Colombo – office located in Malabe
Age: Below 40 years
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in daily laboratory activities related to gemstones and geology
• Support lecturers and students by making notes, checking assignments, and preparing study materials
• Provide accurate details and explanations related to gemstones, minerals, and geology
• Conduct small group sessions and provide guidance in the lab environment
• Maintain proper lab records, ensure safety standards, and assist in smooth lab operations
Candidate Profile:
• Educational background in Gemology / Geology / Earth Sciences
• Prior experience in a gem laboratory, research institute, or similar educational/business setting
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken) – Sinhala/Tamil an added advantage
• Ability to take responsibility, work independently, and assist students with professionalism
• Pleasant personality, good communication skills, and strong attention to detail
