Executive Chef
We are seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team and continue our tradition of excellence. If you have a passion for culinary arts, strong leadership skills, and the ability to create memorable dining experiences, we would love to meet you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Kitchen Operations: Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, presentation, and service.
- Menu Development: Design, develop, and implement creative menus that reflect the café’s style and appeal to customers, considering seasonal ingredients and trends.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the kitchen team, including Sous Chefs, Line Cooks, and Kitchen Assistants, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
- Quality Control: Ensure the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. Conduct regular tastings and inspections.
- Cost Management: Monitor food costs, control inventory, and maintain portion control to ensure profitability while minimizing waste.
- Supplier Relations: Liaise with suppliers to source the best ingredients, manage orders, and negotiate contracts.
- Hygiene and Safety: Uphold strict kitchen hygiene and food safety standards in line with regulations. Conduct regular safety and cleanliness checks.
- Staff Training: Provide ongoing training to kitchen staff on cooking techniques, presentation standards, and safety protocols.
- Customer Interaction: Engage with customers when needed to get feedback, handle special requests, and make dining experiences memorable.
- Problem-Solving: Address any issues that arise in the kitchen promptly, from staff disputes to equipment malfunctions, ensuring minimal disruption.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar senior culinary role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
- Excellent culinary skills and a deep understanding of various cuisines, techniques, and kitchen equipment.
- Experience in menu development, food costing, and inventory management.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
- Creativity and passion for the culinary arts, with a focus on quality and detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Culinary degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
