We are a boutique hotel seeking an Accountants Assistant who will play an essential role within an organisation. This role will report to the Directors of the business.
Job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Reconciling bank accounts
• Managing the day-to-day accounting transactions
• Preparing the monthly accounts
• Reconciling sales revenue with booking worksheet and guest registration forms
• Reconciling petty cash and other business-related expenses
• Cost control for expenses
• Liaising with the external Accountant for annual accounts and tax queries
• Managing the accounts payable function including the processing of invoices due for payment
• Managing the accounts receivable function including the allocation of payments
• Reconciling commissions billed by Online Travel Agents (OTAs)
• Monitoring the budget
• Processing payroll and other related payroll tasks
• Review and assist in estimating budgets for current and future expenditures.
Skills and attributes:
• Previous hotel experience will be highly valued.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial accounting
• Strong level of accuracy & attention to detail
• Ability to take responsibility and be accountable for workload
• Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other financial accounting packages
• Ability to solve problems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
