Accountancy Practice Accountant

We are a UK based well established Accountancy Practice in London, looking to recruit for the above position to work from Matara.

We offer Accounts, VAT, Payroll and Taxation services and our firm has a board of mix of SME Client portfolio and the successful candidate is expected to be involved in a variety of work assignments for UK based clients and will have the opportunity to work with the team based in Colombo.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The roll will be require some bookkeeping and VAT preparation of Statutory Accounts from various records so you would be comfortable with online bookkeeping packages in addition to the classic incomplete records.

Supporting our clients’ day-to-day transactional bookkeeping requirements, Management reporting and Management Accounts, Profit and Loss and Cashflow levels.

Monitoring and reviewing general ledger data & maintain controls to ensure on time and accurate reporting and produce VAT/ Intrastate reports in line with tax laws and regulations.

Preparing Self – Assessment tax Returns/ Calculating Income Tax Liabilities.

Preparing Corporation Tax Returns/ Calculating Corporation Tax Liabilities.

Ensuring Compliance with company’s accounts disclosure requirements.

Managing a portfolio of SME Clients/ Tax planning/ Advice etc

You would have access to supervision and support from colleagues and directors whilst producing the accounts.

Essential requirements are:

• Previous experience in back-office operations of Accountancy

Practice for UK based clients (would be an added advantage)

• Part Qualified with experience (ACCA, CIMA, CA, CMA)

• You must have good working knowledge of accounts preparation/ Computations of taxes and assist with complex accountancy related tasks.

• Experience of accountancy practice software – Iris, Saga 50 Accounts, Quick Books, Xero.

• Strong Communication Skills (Verbal and written) and IT skills.

Working Hours: Mon – Fri 8.00am to 5.00 pm (UK Time, Flexible)
