I am an experienced and dedicated educator with over 22 years of service at Lyceum College, where I have had the privilege of teaching, guiding, and inspiring students across a wide range of age groups and academic levels. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to helping learners achieve excellence in their studies while developing confidence, character, and a lifelong love of learning. My work as a teacher has always been driven by the belief that every child possesses unique strengths and abilities that can flourish when nurtured within a supportive and engaging educational environment.
As an English tuition teacher, I focus on developing strong foundations in speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and effective communication. I believe that language learning should be practical, meaningful, and enjoyable. My lessons are designed to encourage active participation, independent thinking, creativity, and confidence in the use of English in both academic and real-world settings. By adapting my teaching methods to suit individual learning styles, I help students overcome challenges, build competence, and achieve measurable progress.
In addition to my extensive teaching experience, I am a Qualified Child Psychologist and Mentor. These professional qualifications enable me to understand the emotional, social, cognitive, and behavioural factors that influence learning and personal development. I recognize that academic success is closely connected to emotional wellbeing, self-esteem, motivation, and resilience. Through my knowledge of child psychology, I am able to identify learning barriers, understand developmental needs, and provide guidance that supports the whole child rather than focusing solely on academic performance.
My role as a mentor extends beyond the classroom. I work closely with students to help them develop essential life skills such as communication, leadership, problem solving, decision making, emotional intelligence, responsibility, and self-discipline. I encourage learners to set goals, embrace challenges, and cultivate a positive mindset that enables them to succeed in school and in life. Building strong relationships based on trust, respect, and encouragement is an important aspect of my educational philosophy.
Over the years, I have gained valuable expertise in curriculum planning, lesson preparation, assessment, classroom management, student counselling, and individualized instruction. I continuously seek opportunities to improve my professional practice and stay informed about modern educational approaches and effective teaching strategies. My experience allows me to create learning experiences that are both academically rigorous and personally meaningful.
