Speech Therapist
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with speech, language, communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized therapy plans to improve communication skills, speech clarity, language development, and swallowing function.
- Provide evidence-based speech therapy interventions for children and adults with developmental, neurological, or acquired communication difficulties.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on therapeutic techniques and home-based exercises to support progress and independence.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, therapy notes, progress reports, and treatment documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy / Speech Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Should be registered with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).
Salary
- LKR 60,000 – 100,000
