The "D" stands for Diamond Differential DC topology. Sansui designed this to combat transient intermodulation distortion (TIM) and achieve blazing-fast slew rates. Sonically, it is much more transparent, analytical, and faster than the non-D version. The high frequencies are crystalline, the soundstage is wide, and the detail retrieval is noticeably sharper.
