The TD-3 Percussion Sound Module by Roland is perfect for students, since it features a Rhythm Coach with sixteen different exercises that help build timing, speed, and stamina. More than a hundred different drum sounds are combined into thirty-two drum kits that you can "audition" using the Phrase Preview function.

Realistic playability is achieved through double-triggering, including the head and rim on the snare and the bow and edge on the cymbals. This double-triggering allows for real-world applications like rim shots and cymbal catches. This realism is further enhanced by a choice of fifteen ambience effects.
