🔶Key Responsibilities :-
👉Daily Sourcing & Field Operations :- Visit and buy daily seafood requirements from key landing sites (Wennappuwa, Negombo Lellama, Beruwala) and maintain direct contact with fishermen and fishing boats.
👉Order Fulfillment :- Coordinate closely with the Factory Operations and Sales teams to purchase the right volumes and species based on daily customer orders.
👉Price Negotiation :- Negotiate daily prices and payment terms at harbors to secure the best rates and protect company margins.
👉Stock & Cost Tracking :- Maintain accurate daily logs of purchases, prices, and volumes; assist with basic demand forecasting to minimize wastage.
👉Quality Control :- Inspect incoming catch at landing sites to ensure it meets food safety, freshness, and quality standards before transport.
‼️Qualifications:
☑️Education :- Minimum GCE A/Ls (Diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Logistics is an advantage).
☑️Skills :- Solid negotiation skills, sharp analytical skills, and hands-on operational discipline.
☑️Tech :- Practical working knowledge of MS Excel and basic ERP/inventory data entry.
☑️Languages :- Fluency in Sinhala, Tamil and working English.
☑️Logistics :- Valid driver’s license and absolute willingness to travel to harbors and auctions during early morning hours.
☑️Integrity :- High personal integrity and reliability
🟥Experience :-
✅Prior Experience in a buying or sourcing role within a seafood processing and distribution company in Sri Lanka.
✅Familiarity with local fish species, quality grading, and market price formations at major harbors.
