Position – Maintenance Technician

Location – Panagoda, Homagama

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and technical issues with machinery and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules to prevent equipment failure and minimize downtime.

• Collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and equipment upgrades.

• Assist in the installation, calibration, and testing of new equipment and machinery.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory of spare parts.

• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards at all times to ensure a safe working environment.

• Provide training and guidance to machine operators on basic maintenance procedures and best practices.

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, working efficiently to restore functionality and minimize production disruptions.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the textile industry.

• Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.

• Proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

• Familiarity with preventive maintenance techniques and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance management.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical information effectively.

• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
