Job Title: In-Store Home Appliance Technician (After-Sales / Workshop)

About Us:

SS Traders is a leading trader and retailer of home appliances based in Colombo 12 (Pettah). We sell a wide range of refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, ovens, microwaves, and small appliances. Our in-store technician supports sales, warranty/after-sales service, and workshop repairs conducted at our premises.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled In-Store Home Appliance Technician to perform diagnostics, in-house repairs, product testing, installations within the store/warehouse, and provide technical support to customers and sales staff. This position is purely on-site at our Pettah premises.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, test, and repair new and returned appliances in the store workshop.

• Perform pre-delivery checks and demonstrations for appliances sold.

• Handle warranty and after-sales repairs brought to the store.

• Assist sales staff by answering technical questions, recommending compatible products, and demonstrating appliance features.

• Maintain accurate service and repair records, job cards, and parts inventory used for in-house repairs.

• Order and manage spare parts stock in coordination with procurement.

• Conduct basic installations and set-up within the store or warehouse (e.g., connecting demo units).

• Follow safety procedures for electrical work and refrigerant handling; ensure proper disposal of waste components.

• Escalate complex faults to manufacturer service centers when necessary.

• Participate in product training sessions and vendor briefings.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Certificate or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or related technical field preferred.

• 1–3 years’ experience in appliance servicing, retail technical support, or equivalent apprenticeship.

• Good troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical appliance issues.

• Experience with pre-delivery testing, product demonstrations, and basic installations.

• Familiarity with refrigeration systems and safe refrigerant handling is an advantage.

• Basic soldering and electronic troubleshooting skills preferred.

• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and sales team.

• Organized, able to maintain parts inventory and service records.

• Physically able to move and lift appliances safely.

• නව සහ ආපසු ගෙන ආ උපකරණ පරීක්ෂා කිරීම සහ අලුත්වැඩියා කිරීම.

• විකිණූ උපකරණ සඳහා පෙර-බෙදාහැරීමේ පරීක්ෂණ සහ ප්‍රදර්ශන සිදු කිරීම.

• වගන්තී සහ after-sales අලුත්වැඩියා කටයුතු කළමනාකරණය කිරීම.

• පාරිභෝගිකයින් සහ විකිණීම් කණ්ඩායමට තාක්ෂණික උපදෙස් ලබාදීම.

• සේවා වාර්තා, job cards සහ අමතර කොටස් වාර්තා පවත්වාගෙන යාම.

• අමතර කොටස් කළමනාකරණයට සහාය වීම.

• විදුලි හා refrigerant ආරක්ෂණ නීති පිළිපැදීම.

• නිෂ්පාදක පුහුණු සැසිවලට සහභාගී වීම.

සුදුසුකම්:

• විදුලි, යාන්ත්‍රික හෝ සමාන තාක්ෂණික ක්ෂේත්‍රයක සහතිකයක්/ඩිප්ලෝමාවක් තිබීම වාසියකි.

• වසර 1–3 ක උපකරණ සේවා පළපුරුද්ද.

• හොඳ troubleshooting හැකියාව.

• පෙර-බෙදාහැරීමේ පරීක්ෂණ සහ මූලික installation පිළිබඳ දැනුම.

• හොඳ සන්නිවේදන හැකියාව.

• කණ්ඩායමක් තුළ සහ ස්වාධීනව වැඩ කිරීමට හැකියාව.
