Eco Extracts (Pvt) Ltd, manufacturer of the Canine Plus+ premium pet food brand and part of a 40-year-old seafood export group, is restarting and expanding operations at our Negombo facility — including commercial cold storage rentals. We are hiring an experienced Refrigeration Foreman to take full charge of our engineering function.
*Responsibilities:*
- Take charge of operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial refrigeration plant — cold rooms, blast freezers (-30°C to -50°C), condensing units, and compressors
- Bring currently idle cold rooms back to certified operating condition and maintain temperature records for commercial storage customers
- Supervise one Electrical Technician and coordinate outside contractors when required
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, breakdown logs, and spare parts inventory
- Oversee general upkeep of factory electrical and mechanical systems across two sites (Negombo processing plant and pet food extrusion plant)
- Report directly to the Director
*Requirements:*
- NVQ Level 4/5 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent trade qualification
- Minimum 8 years hands-on experience in industrial/commercial refrigeration (cold storage, food processing, or ice plant experience strongly preferred)
- Ability to fault-find on both refrigeration and electrical control systems
- Able to work independently and take ownership of the entire plant
- Residence in or near Negombo an advantage
