About the Role:
We are a high-volume, upscale beachside restaurant in Hikkaduwa. We pride ourselves on serving the freshest local seafood with a modern, global fusion twist. We are seeking a visionary Executive Chef to lead our culinary team, elevate our menu, and maintain world-class standards of food quality and kitchen efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Innovation: Design and execute creative seafood-centric and fusion menus that appeal to both international tourists and local foodies.
Kitchen Management: Supervise all kitchen operations, including food preparation, plating, and service speed during peak hours.
Quality Control: Ensure every dish meets our high standards for taste, freshness, and presentation.
Sourcing & Inventory: Manage relationships with local fishermen and suppliers to source the best seasonal ingredients while controlling food costs.
Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff to foster a professional and motivated work environment.
Hygiene & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations and kitchen sanitation.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a reputable restaurant or 4/5-star hotel.
Exceptional skills in seafood preparation and a deep understanding of fusion flavor profiles.
Strong financial acumen (food costing, inventory management, and waste reduction).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Culinary degree or professional certification is preferred.
