JOB DESCRIPTION

🏗️Position :Civil Site Engineer

💼 Employment Type: Full-Time

📅 Experience Required: Minimum 1 Year

🎓 Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc / B.E.)

📋 About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Site Engineer to join our construction team at our Vavuniya site. The successful candidate will support the planning, execution, and supervision of civil construction works on site, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

🔹 Supervise day-to-day site activities and ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and standards

🔹 Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and labour gangs to ensure smooth workflow

🔹 Monitor and inspect construction works including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, drainage, and road works

🔹 Prepare and maintain site records including daily progress reports, material consumption logs, and inspection checklists

🔹 Assist in setting out and surveying works using levels, total stations, and other survey equipment

🔹 Liaise with the Project Manager and Consultant Engineers on technical matters

🔹 Review and interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, and project specifications

🔹 Ensure health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance on site at all times

🔹 Support the preparation of interim payment certificates, variation orders, and site instructions

🔹 Participate in site meetings and prepare meeting minutes as required

🔹 Track material deliveries and maintain inventory of construction materials on site

Qualifications & Requirements

🔹 Bachelor's Degree (BSc / B.E.) in Civil Engineering from a recognized university

🔹 Minimum 1 year of site experience in building construction, road works, or infrastructure projects

🔹 Working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with MS Project or Primavera is an advantage

🔹 Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents

🔹 Good understanding of standard construction methods and materials

🔹 Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

🔹 Strong communication skills in English; Tamil and/or Sinhala preferred (for Sri Lanka-based roles)

🔹 Willingness to work on-site in challenging environments

🔹 Valid driving licence preferred
