YOUR ROLE
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations
• Maintain General Ledger, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Handle bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Prepare and submit tax returns (VAT, WHT, Income Tax, ESC, PAYE) and other statutory payments
• Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan Accounting Standards, tax laws and regulatory requirements
• Maintain proper documentation for audit and tax purposes
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants and management
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Monitor expenses, payments and collections
• Identify discrepancies and take corrective actions
• Provide accurate financial information to support management decision-making
• Ensure effective internal controls and accounting procedures
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance field
• Professional qualification (CA / ACCA / CIMA / AAT) or partly qualified
• 3–5 years' proven experience in a similar Accountant position
• Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan Accounting Standards & Taxation
• Experience in VAT, WHT, Income Tax and other statutory returns
• Experience with QuickBooks / Xero / MYOB or similar accounting software
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• Good knowledge of bank reconciliation, AP/AR, payroll and financial reporting
• Excellent English communication skills (Spoken & Written)
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• High level of integrity, accuracy and confidentiality
