Warehouse Operations Assistant Manager
Salary: LKR 80,000 - 120,000
Working Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Assistant Manager to support the management of our warehouse operations. The successful candidate will assist in coordinating the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring that all operations run smoothly while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Support:
Assist in managing daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
Organize and optimize warehouse space to ensure maximum efficiency and safety.
Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of inventory movements.
Team Coordination:
Support the Warehouse Manager in leading and supervising the warehouse team.
Assign tasks to staff and monitor their performance to ensure operational goals are met.
Provide on-the-job training and guidance to warehouse personnel.
Inventory Management:
Help monitor inventory levels and conduct routine stock checks.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and reduce wastage.
Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to ensure adequate stock availability.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Participate in safety audits and implement necessary corrective actions.
Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing changes to enhance efficiency.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and accuracy in operations.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare reports on warehouse activities, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
Maintain accurate records for goods receipt, storage, and dispatch.
Assist in generating and reviewing Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and related documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant managerial role.
Education: A diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in warehouse management systems and inventory software.
Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and safety protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
