At KAYSONA, we attempt to showcase and empower some of the many gifted artists, craftsmen and women in Sri Lanka by giving them a chance to display their inborn talents and abilities. We want to give them a hands up and not a hand out. Sri Lanka is an island with a rich heritage of traditional arts and crafts handed down through the generational family lines. While helping them to earn a healthy income through dignified work, we are enabling them to support their families, as well as continue some of the traditional ancestral crafts which many of the newer generation are reluctant to follow in, in the pursuit of a better income. Many of the craftsmanship displayed here, especially the traditional Sri Lankan way of creating batik, handloom, coir and coconut shell products, are all eco-friendly and produced in an environmentally friendly manner in a small scale way by individuals, many of whom are elderly and many women as a way of supplementing their family income as they take care of their kids. Every sale on Kaysona goes into empowering an individual to support their family and to improve the circumstances they are living in. We hope that you would visit our page often to see the new products displayed and encourage your friends to purchase gift items for their family which are all safe and eco friendly.
