As a social media manager you may work for one or more companies. You'll promote and manage their online presence through social media websites. During a typical working day you will analyse, review and contribute to activity on websites will include (but not be limited to) Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+ , Pinterest and etc.
** On a day-to-day basis you will typically:
·update social media sites on a regular basis
·write blogs, articles and posts that are relevant and will appeal to social media users
·respond to social media posts and develop discussions
·stand independently and friendly replies to comments, questions
·check the internet and social media sites for company mentions and customer feedback
·search for posts, news and articles that will interest site visitors
·competitions and campaigns that promote your company
·take part in conferences and group chat that is relevant to your industry or company
·use e-mail campaigns tools like Mail Chimps, Constant Contact and etc...
·develop strategies to increase 'follows' or ''likes' on sites like Twitter
·use social media tools like Hootsuite, TweetDeck or Buffer to manage multiple sites.
·In some jobs you may also be responsible for writing content for websites and other online specialist industry publications like blogs, ebooks and newsletters.
** Working hours and conditions
First thing is you work at home (lately we are planning to move to Colombo). Basically we work on UK time, with us you have to work in between 2pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday and 2pm to 6pm Saturday. You may be required to work evenings and weekends when working on a campaign or to a strict deadline.
·1-2+ years experience in social media management
·Demonstrated creativity and social media/content marketing experience necessary (please provide links in your CV)
·Experience in Graphic Design and Video Editing tools for content creating.
·Extremely strong writing and communication skills in English and Sinhala (Tamill will be Value Added)
·Exceptional people skills and high level of empathy
·Highly organized and attentive to detail
·Is an early-adopter who can pick up new tools and concepts quickly
·Maintains a working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research
